I often get asked “How are you be a single mom and in sales?” My answer usually surprises people. I find being in sales makes it easier to be a mother rather than harder.
- I work from home so when my daughter is sick I make calls instead of going on appointments. With a traditional job I would loose a day of pay or have to use vacation/sick leave.
- I can work my schedule around being at her school events, something I could not do before.
- If I need to take time off I can always catch up on emails and paperwork after she goes to bed.
- Like all things, I set bounds to make sure I can be present with my daughter when I am with her.
How does having children change the way you sell? Let me know in the comments below.
